For the game Avatar Laser Wars 2 (2012) I was the only artist, and built all the art content except the characters, which were Microsoft Avatars (XBox 360). This was a short project (about 5 months).
Shown are some of the main environment & weapon assets I built which were made with a stylized/clean look to try and fit with the avatars, which are kind of goofy corporate art with bad proportions.
All work was built and textured in 3DS Max for a proprietary game engine from Digital DNA Games. Lighting was baked in Mental ray, we only had diffuse and additive textures but that was a fun limitation. The entire game download was 26mb (!).
The game is ranked in the top 20 best-selling XBox Live Indie Games of all time.
